Welcome ~
As many of you already know, sometimes the best, or only, place to find a particular Japanese anime, manga, or related goods is - where else - in Japan. Especially for stuff that are no longer commercially available, or that were never commercially sold (such as doujinshi and furoku), the only way to get what you want might be to look in 2nd hand stores or to hope that an individual owner somewhere is willing to sell.
But even if you're able to find a item, you are likely to run into problems with communicating in Japanese, agreeing on a mutually acceptable means of payment, and convincing the seller to ship overseas.
The purpose of this site is to introduce proxy buying services for purchasing from the flea market ("Furima") section of Rakuten, a large online marketplace in Japan. This is an expanded service of Celga.com, which you may already know as a proxy bidder on Yahoo! Japan, an incredible auction site for unusual finds. (For more information on Celga's proxy bidding service, please go to www.celga.com.)
Like Yahoo! Japan, Rakuten Furima provides individuals and merchants with an online forum where they can list the items they have for sale. Unlike Yahoo! Japan, items listed on Furima usually have fixed prices, so you know exactly how much you will be paying for something (although Furima recently combined their fixed-price and auction sections, so you may see more auction items listed - of course, we'll be happy to bid on auction items for you also!). But for the most part, it is a first-come, first-served system, so instead of being outbid, you might be outrun.
Interested? Then browse our site and use the order form or drop us a line if you find something you'd like to get. Good luck!
